First Day Morning Before the Crowds Entered
April 11-13, 2018 ReedSinopharm held its annual “Natural Health and Nutrition Expo” in Shanghai. This year was bigger and better than last year especially for the association. Last year ReedSinopharm joined the association as a supporting member in order to work more closely on NHNE and FIBO China (Fitness & Sports Nutrition Expo).
Last year HPA-China organized members Blackmore’s, Garden of Life and NatureMade to take part with booths. This year HPA-China and ReedSinopharm cooperated on a an association pavilion, which members Nature’s Way, Nordic Naturals, Preferred Nutrition and Schiff took part. The association also partnered up with the U.S. Department of Commerce (U.S. Consulate Shanghai) to take part in U.S.A Day. HPA’s executive director Jeff Crowther gave a presentation on the U.S. dietary supplement market during the event together with GNC’s China GM Kennedy Horton, Shanghai Pharmaceutical Import & Export Company’s Vice GM Virginia Han and Alibaba’s (T-Mall) Supplement Lead Eric Lee.
U.S.A. Day also had a fast round of brand introductions, which gave thirteen different U.S. brands ten minutes each to introduce their brands to a packed room of brick and mortar retailers, distributors and cross border e-commerce sellers.
This year’s expo saw an increase of over 300% in the number of international dietary supplement brands attending and showcasing in a booth. The show has more than 1,000 exhibitors, 35,000 sqm exhibiting space, 30 conferences, more than 500 matchmaking sessions and 120,000 professional visitors.
