Local regulators of Tianjin recently launched a special campaign to crack down over sales fraud and false advertisement of general food and special food, based on a work plan drafted based n the relevant guidance released by the State Council.
The crackdown will target at food that are sold without official approval, including food products whose information does not match the registered information.
The regulators will check label and instruction book of food products to make sure that no inaccurate information, including claims of being able to cure and prevent disease, are shown over the products.
The regulators will also look for illegal marketing conducts including selling food over seminars and direct marketing etc.
During the campaign, the regulators will spot check and receive complaint reports. (Source: news.enorth.com)
