On the morning of February 25, 2021, the Chinese Nutrition Society officially released the “Scientific Research Report on Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2021)”, analyzing the current situation and problems of dietary and nutritional health of Chinese residents. The report strengthens that the problem of an unbalanced diet is still prominent while high oil and salt intake being very common. It’s worth of notice that dietary imbalance is a major risk factor for the development of chronic diseases. Also, obesity and overweight have become important public health issues due to significant changes in the lifestyle of the population.
