
Recently, Fujian Provincial Market Supervision Administration announced the second batch of false and illegal advertisements cases in 2020. The 17 reported cases involved a health food advertisement, which was illegal because it was not marked with “this product is not a substitute for medicine”. In accordance with the provisions of Articles 57 and 58 of the Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Market Supervision Administration issued an administrative penalty, ordering the publication of illegal advertisements to stop the adverse effects, and imposing a fine of RMB 250,000 yuan (USD $38,000).
