Based on the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), in consensus with the National Health Commission, released three health food papers. These include “Technical Guidelines for Toxicological Examination and Evaluation of the Safety of Health Food and its Raw Materials (2020 Edition)”, “Technical Guidelines for Strain Safety Examination and Evaluation of Health Food Raw Materials (2020 Edition)” and “Technical Guidelines for Examination and Evaluation of Physical, Chemical and Hygienic Indexes of Health Food (2020 Edition)”, which shall come into force on the date of announcement.
