In order to attract more purchases, many food products use the word “health” to advertise that the products are beneficial to health. However, Taiwan’s FDA announced on August 4th that, except for licensed health foods, all other foods sold must not be labeled as “health” to avoid consumer misunderstanding.

Genuine “health” food should have the “Little Green Man” mark on the package. After applying to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the product will be evaluated for its safety and scientifically proven efficacy, and then a health food license will be issued. (Source:
