Recently, China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products (CCCMHPIE) released the Report on Dietary Supplement Industry (2020).

In 2020, the sudden outbreak of the epidemic coronavirus at the beginning of the year had a major economic and social impact, but the positive trend of economic development remains unchanged. In addition, the constantly increasing Chinese elder population amplifies the needs of health products.

From the import and export situation, although under the influence of unfavorable factors, including declining world economy, increasing international trade tensions, and rising trade protectionism, China’s international trade in dietary supplements still maintained a good trend of prosperous import and export, and the trade deficit expanded to $1.52 billion (RMB 10.63 billion yuan).
