China’s national drug regulator recently released a document on identifying illegal statement and false advertisement of cosmetics. This document is based on relevant legal documents including regulation on naming and logo of cosmetics.

The regulation bans use of strong wordings including speedy effect, super strong, comprehensive, supreme, removing wrinkles. Products which claim to be “pure organic” when only contains a certain organic elements are also deemed as false advertisement. 

Other medical terms or terms indicative of medical effects are also banned, which includes prescription, medical, treatment, anti-bacterial, removing scars, hair restore and weight losing. Terms including smart, digital or infrared that may mislead consumers are also banned. (Source:bbt news)
