
China’s General Administration of Customs (GAC) released a policy document on managing the registration of foreign-based imported food companies. The government agency gathers public opinion for this document, and the deadline is December 25.
The document says that the existing regulation item of “ the catalogue of registration of foreign-based imported food companies,and the foreign-based imported food production companies covered by the catalogue, can only export their products to China after registration” is deleted.
This item would be replaced by “foreign-based imported food companies which aims to export products to China can only do so after registering with the General Customs”.
According to the document emphasis is put on a review system to be established by the exporters towards the relevant food products, and make sure that company’s name, address, registration number put on the food package should be accurate. (Source: shuzheng kangxun)
