The 100-day special campaign, launched by 13 government agencies including National Market Regulation, MIIT, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Civil Affairs, targeting event marketing and tele-marketing of health food ended recently.

The campaign found that most victims of relevant frauds are elderly consumers. In the exposed cases by the national market regulator, a Sichuan-based health service consultant earned over 8 million by frauds, and returned 400,000 yuan to an elderly consumers on spot when found by inspectors.

Xu Huafeng, deputy chairman of China Health Care Association, said that in the past, campaigns of this kind are launched only by FDA or market regulators. A campaign collectively launched by 13 government agencies is unprecedented. (Source:ifeng)
