Ali Health, Alibaba’s health arm, teamed up with Alibaba’s data department to release a report of consumption by local web users during CNY.

The report shows that those who were born in the 1990s are most likely to be buying beauty products, and those who were born in the 1980s are busy buying health food, and those who were born earlier tend to buy diet products to make them look good in front of relatives and family members.

Data from Tmall’s health platform shows that male consumers tend to buy more protein power to help figure building, while female consumers are buying enzyme, probiotics, and dietary fiber meal products to help their weigh controlling plan.

The data also showed that female consumers are buying 65% of all the packaged health food products sold on the platform. Consumers from Ningbo, Zhejiang provinces tops the number of health food consumers nationwide. (source: emoney.com)
