Recently, the Beijing industry and commerce regulators decided to fine the domestic internet giant Toutiao, or Bytestandce Technology, as its Toutiao app post medical ads without obtaining official approval for relevant ads.
This conduct violates the No. 46 article of the country’s ad law. Toutiao was found to have posted health food and non-prescribed drug ads of products from Tongrentang.
The regulators asked for 3 million yuan from Toutiao as fine in total. The company did not respond to requests for comments. It is not the first time that Toutiao was fined for violation in posting ads. (Source: mlzgw.cn)
