At a forum of the China International Import Expo, the chief of national market regulator suggested the market regulation to be enhanced when the consumption trend in the local market shows diversification.

At the forum regarding the topic of food safety, Zhang Mao, the chief of the national market regulator, said that the most severe measures should be taken to curb any illegal conducts. The measures include confiscation of revenues from illegal conducts, strengthened punishment towards the relevant companies with big sum of fine.

A better system to encourage whistle-blower should also be set up, which is a lesson that China can learn from other countries, said Mr. Zhang. （Source：tech-food）
