The food safety office of the State Council released a notice recently to the local authorities regarding the crackdown over sales fraud and false advertisement.
The campaign involves 9 top government agencies, and was kicked off last July. The notice says that to better promote the campaign, the office will divide three phases for the campaign in the upcoming months: from June to August, the campaign will be continued as what it is; from September to October, spot checks will be conducted by all levels of regulators, and in November, authorities should make reviews over the completed inspections.
The notice also says that special attention should be given to major issues in the local health food market, and punishment should be strengthened to the illegal vendors and companies. (Source: ce.cn)
