The national standing committee o NPC recently reviewed the third version of draft of the law on e-commerce.

The draft says that besides the platform operators, “any other vendors that sells products online or provide services to e-commerce operators” will also be covered by the law on e-commerce.

This means that vendors who sell products via online live-streaming platforms and on Wechat will also be regulated by this law.

In 2016, the number of vendors who sell products via Wechat has reached 30 million , with the sales volume of 500 billion yuan. (Source: Beijing News)
