The deputy chief of Hangzhou’s customs said at a recent press conference on sales fraud of health food and false advertisement that imported health food and general food are also found with illegal additives.
“For example, some imported wine are found to contain sodium saccharin and benzoic acid, which, according to our national standard, are not allowed to be added to wine,” said the official.
“Any imported food which are found to contain illegal additives will be confiscated by the Hangzhou customs,” he said, who also reminds consumers to check for exit and entry certificate when buying an imported product. (Source: zjnews)
