The State Council stressed in a recent meeting about the development of local dairy industry that financial and local support should be given to local dairy companies to import stock breeding, and improve national standard of raw milk.

Industry people expect that the recent guideline would benefit regional dairy companies that own pasture.

Song Liang, an expert of dairy industry, said that the reason to require updated standard for raw milk is that the quality of raw milk provided by domestic brand has been improved dramatically, and an updated standard would reflect the price of quality products, which would help domestic milk to compete with other brands.

The recent policy guideline would also better protect consumers’ due rights to buy quality dairy products, said industry people. (Source: ce.cn）
