According to Shuzheng Kangxun, since April, local civil affair authority of Pingtan of Fujian province, Nanjing of Jiangsu province, Guangxi province, Xuancheng of Anhui province and Zibo of Shandong province have so far released guidelines to regulate what the basic medical insurance account of individual should cover.

As the management of medical insurance is under the regulator of the residence，the regulations and guidelines differ a lot from one another.

Regulators of Zibo, Nanjing and Xuancheng either says health food is not covered by local medical insurance, or does not include health food into the list of ok-to-cover.
Regulators of Guangxi and Pingtan of Fujian indicate in the guideline that health food are covered by the individual’s account of medical insurance. (Source:Shuzheng Kangxun)
