According to the provincial food and drug regulator of Yunnan, the regulator will highlight the quality control of health food and cosmetics in their daily inspections, and will launch special campaign to better protect the local consumers ‘rights.

The regulator will manage the local health food and cosmetics company by risk control. Relevant individuals will be held legally accountable if the company is found to be conducting illegal sales, which harm the due rights of the local consumers.

The companies are urged to build smart systems to manage the process from production to sales of their products, and set up recall system.

Special attention should be paid to test the side effect of cosmetics, and better monitor the assessment conducted by the cosmetics companies themselves.

At the same time, the authority also launched officials accounts across social media platforms to facilitate the consumers to report on illegal conduct, and educate the consumers with relevant information about cosmetics and health food. (Source: Xinhua)
