According to a recent report co-released by Tmall Global, the e-commerce arm of Alibaba Group, and China Business News, the young Chinese consumers who were born in the 1990s have become the major consumption power of imported foods, replacing the generation of the 1980s.
Nearly 17% of the consumers have bought imported products for over 5 times, with regular shopping habit to buy imported products online.
Besides the five countries which have been long favored by local consumers when buying imported products, including Japan, the U.S., Australia, Germany and South Korea, products from Greece, Poland, Hungry and Spain were also favored by Chinese consumers in 2017.
