Commerce and industry authority of Tianjin recently released a notice to crack down over illegal direct sales of health food and relevant false advertisement conducts.
Last July, nine central government agencies have co-released a work plan to crack down over sales fraud and false ads of general food and health food. The work plan specifically highlights illegal conducts including direct sales.
Tianjin’s campaign will be conducted through June. Relevant companies will be held responsible if found to have been involved in illegal conducts. The local regulators will conduct spot check to inspect direct sales. The management towards registration of direct-sales health products will be strengthened. (Source: mofcom.gov)
