Regulators of CFDA recently released information on spot checks on food safety in 2017 at a press conference.
“The average standard rate of domestic infant formula products reached 99.5% in 2017, and the quality index of these products is similar with that of international level,” said Zhang Jing, chief of food management department of CFDA, who adds that the positive performance is the result of strict regulation and the improvement of technology by domestic companies. “The safety level of infant formula is at the highest point.”
According to the official data, the regulators have approved 1040 formulas by 139 companies, including 813 formulas by 100 domestic companies. 89 companies were inspected in 2017 regarding infant formula production system. (Source: news.qinbei)
