Since I’ve been visiting and living in China since 2000, I’m no strange to this cough remedy. It really does help out. There are a variety of companies producing this loquat based product. Here in China it is registered as an OTC. The larger bottle and tin are from the same company and are the market leader across most of Asia. In China, it’s referred to simply by its shortened company name, which are the last three characters on the top line “nian ci an”.

I was surprised to see the below article from the Wall Street Journal this past week. If you haven’t tried it before, give it a whirl. However, if you don’t live near a China town, it might be difficult to buy or overly expensive through the internet. To read the WSJ article, click HERE.
