The state food and drug regulator teamed up with the Ministry of Public Security to release a policy document on stepping up punishment towards illegal conducts relevant with food and drug, asking local FDAs and public security bureaus to punish relevant entities severely.

The local regulators are asked to investigate and spot the relevant staffs who should take the legal or criminal responsibility of the cases, including executives of the companies. Those who violated food safety laws should be detained based on laws and regulations.

Those who conducted illegal sales should be banned from services relevant to food or medical industries. (Source: CFDA)
