The local authorities of Pan Zhihua of Sichuan province recently launched a special campaign to crack down over illegal conducts related to health food sales, including sales fraud and false advertisement.

This campaign covers the entire local health food market and aims to clean up the market environment and safeguard due rights of local consumers.

The campaign would be co-conducted by regulators of food and drug, public security, industry and commerce as well as publicity department.

It specifically targets at the “health seminars” conducted without official approval and marketing materials of health food sent out by vendors.

The campaign has so far spot checked 38 batches of health food in half a month and set seven legal cases related to false advertisement.

The local publicity department also sent out over 13000 sets of publicity materials to raise awareness of local consumers towards illegal conducts related to health food (Source: CRI)
