An increasing number of illegal promotion activities regarding health food in the forms of free physical tests, health seminars and expert classes are taking place in rural areas of Beijing.
The relevant activities mostly target at elderly consumers, most of whom are left behind in rural areas while their kids are working in cities. Regulation is severely lacked to protect consumers.
The local regulators should team up in cracking down on these conducts, from production, sales to promotion. The local public securities, health and quality control department should take more responsibilities in regulating rural market. (Source: Beijing Youth Daily)
