The state regulator of food and drug recently issued a notice regarding infant formula products. It says that among the 126 production companies and 211,000 sales companies in the market of infant formula products that the local authorities have inspected so far this year, the label problem still exist in some of these companies.
Some of these products indicate or imply in their label on the package that they could help to protect intestine, improve intelligence and immunity.
As requested by the national guidance on registration and label of infant formula products, no products can use the words including “super”, “upgraded” or any other words that indicate or imply functions of improve immunity or intelligence etc.
CFDA says that those companies that fail to follow relevant rules will be punished severely. (Source: Xinhua)
