According to South Korean trade group, China imported health food from South Korea that valued at $90 million last year. The growth rate of import sales have been 41% annually in the past four years.
The value of South Korean health products account for 6.2% of the total health food import in China, which was up from 2012’s 2.7%, which follows America (23.4%), Australia (15.8%), Thailand (7.4%) and Taiwan (7.4%).
The popularity of South Korean health food in China is growing, but the official approval for Korean health food to enter China’s market still requires a lot of work. The entry bar for Korean company is still high in China. By February, only about 16,000 kinds of Korean health food gained official approval to sell in China. (Source: Shuzheng Kangxun)
